Public Hearing
MORATORIUM ON TANK BUILDING PERMITS
Tuesday, April 5, 2022
6:00 PM
Government Office Building, Room 301
25 N. Division Street
Salisbury, Maryland
The County Council will consider whether or not to extend the moratorium on the issuance of building permits for agricultural storage tanks that store DAF like the one on Porter Mill Road. Since this is a public hearing, there will be an opportunity for members of the community to speak. (Legislative Bill No. 2022-03)
NAG encourages the citizens of Wicomico County to attend and possibly speak to help stop the construction of any new tanks. Right now, your community may be the next one to smell the awful stench of DAF and suffer the heavy tanker truck traffic down your road any time of the day or night. Believe this Porter Mill Road resident, you don’t want a DAF tank anywhere near your home and family.
This is a critical time for us to make our voices heard since legislation controlling such tanks has not passed the council. Once it does, existing tanks may be “grandfathered in” and will be difficult to remove or control.
NAG is still fighting for all citizens of Wicomico County and must pay its legal bills. We need you to step up and support NAG!
